Although most think of the Ele'ele area as the gateway to Kauai's West Side,
it's technically part of Kauai's South Shore based on tax map designations.
Ele'ele communities include:
Ele'ele and Ele'ele Nani--This is a residential
area between the highway and the Hanapepe River canyon.
So-called "rim homes" located at the canyon edge offer premium
views.
Ele'ele iLuna--Ongoing Habitat for Humanity
project in Ele'ele. It is a county-sponsored affordable
housing project. More details are available on the
Habitat for Humanity website. In February 2010, it was
announced that A&B Properties had sold additional land to the county
to expand this project.
Port
Allen is a business, residential, and marina area. It's
also the location of famous Glass Beach.
