Omao is a rural area on Kauai's South Shore bordered by Koloa town to the south and Lawai to the west. While it does not have it's own post office, it's a census designated place with a population of 1221 in the 2000 census. While Omao is close to historic Olde Koloa Towne and the Poipu resort area, it offers a rural atmosphere where one will see horses and grazing cattle.
