There is a new community of 58 homes on Kauai's West Side known as Keala'ula located in Eleele with views of Port Allen harbor and the ocean beyond. A planned 75-unit, multistory condominium project, Kai' Olino, was to have been built between Keala'ula and the harbor but that has been cancelled so does not impact the views of the harbor-side homes. Keala'ula (county designation of "Port Allen Residential Subdivision", taxmap 4-2-1-10)) consists of 58 homes.
All homes feature 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on a median lot size of around 6,000 square feet (range of 4,632 to 10,253 square feet). The project was completed in 2008 by A&B Properties and sold out in April 2009. Many had shared appreciation rights which had little meaning after the market downturn.
